This was the twenty seventh Zoo Walk hosted by the Sydney Sisters of the Order of Perpetual Indulgence. This year it was a small, though none-the-less enthusiastic group of around twenty Gathered Faithful who joined the Sisters, zoo keepers and volunteers at Taronga Zoo in Mosman.
This year the Sisters were delighted to welcome a fellow Sister from the Abbey of St Joan in Seattle. They were also joined on the walk by a guest who was the great, great nephew of Sir Edward Hallstrom, a past trustee and chairman of the zoo, who funded the purchase of exotic species, the establishment of a farm to produce fresh food for the zoo’s animals as well as various other philanthropic ventures.
As always the tour culminated in the free flight bird show followed by lunch, libation and merriment at one of the zoo's restaurants.
As Always, the Sisters humbly extend a very big thank you to Leanne and every one of the keepers and volunteers who helped make their visit such a memorable one. The Sisters also acknowledge Leanne who kindly shared her photos of the walk.
The Sisters hope to see you all back next year!
