Living History Walk

Darlinghurst & Kings Cross

Sunday 22nd February 2026

On Sunday the 22nd February the Sisters, alongside our dearest Barry Charles, the one and only Troughman, gathered with the faithful at Green Park, the holy site upon which a love chapel once stood and the setting of a daring midnight raid in the 80s to rescue a sacred relic.

This day was not only to honour our own sisterly past, but to hold space for the full tapestry of our community’s history. Pride, sadness, wonder, and love all woven together in the very fabric of Sydney, a city with a deeply queer story to tell. We made our way toward the Cross, weaving through laughter, solemn reflection, and joyful storytelling from Barry and Sister Rowena, before concluding our pilgrimage in Fitzroy Park.

The gathered faithful were vibrant, engaged, and an absolute delight to walk beside. The Sisters give heartfelt thanks to Barry Charles for his generous spirit and powerful words, and to the Harbour City Bears for lending their microphone. We also extend our gratitude to the local community groups who showed up in support. Bless you all, with love from us all.
