Sisters Beefcake Tenderloins & Verandah Gobbie gathered with friends and community at Universal to watch the memorial service of Maxi Shield.
Afterwards the community moved together in procession to Taylor Square where Maxi was applauded, roses were thrown, and a sea of people stood together crying, laughing and remembering. It was a powerful moment of love for someone who meant so much to so many.
The evening continued with sacraments at The Beresford Hotel in a celebration fitting of a true queen.
Nothing can replace Maxi or the enormous boob shaped gap now left in our community. We simply hope the Sisters were a small comforting presence on a night where our community gathered to grieve, remember and hold each other close.
Our thoughts are with Maxi's family friends and all who loved her in this very difficult time.
